Kia has taken the Indian EV market by storm with its latest offering, the Clavis EV. Recently, it was put through an extensive range test where the battery was driven from 100% to 0% to see how much distance the vehicle can actually cover.
The test started with an estimated range display of 452 km, and the odometer of the vehicle was already showing a reading of 588 km.

As soon as the Clavis EV started its journey, the features inside caught attention – fog lights, large infotainment system, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, and advanced steering controls that make driving easier.
The vehicle was driven for 393.7 kms after full charge and the most surprising thing was that the vehicle continued to run for about 17 kms even after showing 0% battery.
This shows that in the real world too, the Clavis EV is giving tough competition to the Hyundai Creta EV, which ran about 402 kms in a similar previous range test.
Although the platform of the Clavis EV is not fully electric, its drive quality surprised the testers.
This front wheel drive MPV electric car with 170 bhp power and 255 Nm torque proved to be amazing in terms of driving dynamics and comfort.
During driving, three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sports – were used, in which the torque and response felt great in the sports mode.
However, the low-speed weight of the steering could have been a little better and the position of the brake pedal can also feel a little uncomfortable at first.
Despite this, braking was excellent, especially when it was driven on broken roads to test the road conditions.
The ventilated seats and large panoramic sunroof provided in the car make the ride even more luxurious. Features like wireless charging,
USB Type-C ports, advanced connect features, and floating center console give it a premium feel. The second and third row seats are also quite comfortable, although this car is available only in 7-seater variants and the 6-seater version lacks space, especially when it comes to space in the third row.
But features like great headroom, mobile holders with arm rests, rear AC vents and V2H power socket make it great for family use.
Talking about the design, the Clavis EV is offered in 6 stunning colours, with the matte finish colour particularly attracting attention. Its fit and finish is truly a testament to Korean quality. Roof rails, connected tail lights and unique alloy wheels give it a premium look.
The starting price of the Clavis EV starts at ₹ 21 lakh and goes up to ₹ 25 lakh for the top variant. With a real world range of around 390 km, this EV emerges as a reliable family car on Indian roads.
The ability to travel long distances without any fear, great driving experience and feature-loaded cabin make it a strong contender in its segment.
