The highly anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, is set to commence on July 12.
The grand celebrations will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and will adhere to Hindu Vedic traditions.
The wedding festivities will kick off with the Shubh Vivah or wedding ceremony on July 12, followed by the Shubh Aashirwad or Divine Blessings on July 13 and the Mangal Utsav on July 14.
The couple’s pre-wedding celebrations have already begun, with a second round of festivities taking place in Italy from May 29 to June 1.
The Ambani family has also planned a grand birthday party on May 31 to celebrate their granddaughter Veda’s first birthday, with a-list celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and others in attendance.
The couple’s pre-wedding celebrations in Italy will be a luxurious three-day voyage from Sicily to Switzerland, themed as a “Futuristic Cruise.” The event will feature a strict no-phone policy to ensure the privacy and intimacy of the couple and their esteemed guests.
Over 300 VIP guests from around the world have been invited, including Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and his family, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and others.
The wedding itself is scheduled to take place in Mumbai between July 6 and 12. The couple’s nuptials are expected to be a grand affair, with the Ambani family known for their extravagant celebrations.
The couple’s engagement took place in December last year at Shrinathji Temple in Rajasthan’s Nathdwara, followed by a party hosted by the Ambanis at their Mumbai mansion.
Anant Ambani, a director on the boards of Jio Platforms Limited, Reliance Retail Ventures, Reliance New Energy, and Reliance New Solar Energy, has established Vantara, a 3,000-acre animal rescue centre in Jamnagar.
Radhika Merchant, a classical dancer, is a graduate from the New York University and serves as a Director on the Board of Encore Healthcare.
